A FEW SAMPLING CONSIDERATIONS
Safety – When offering samples, extreme care must be taken to ensure the safety of the public. Allergy warnings, and all product ingredients (including tracings) should be easily and clearly available.
Presentation of Samples – For samples to have the desired impact, they should be presented in prime condition, where they will taste/smell/look their best. Sufficient transport and presentation devices should therefore be considered.
Temperature requirements – Certain samples will require storage at a certain temperature. For example, we have previously worked with an ice cream manufacturer at a country show where portable freezers had to be found to maintain optimal ice cream consistency.
Environmental Hazard – When distributing samples, extra licences may be required from the council. Product sampling staff may be required to have relevant food hygiene certificates. Any food preparation equipment (e.g. freezers, gas hobs) also need to be able to pass safety checks.
